Impromptu decision to go with Shannen to Las Vegas.  I called in sick for work to take the 1030am bus to Flagstaff and then the midnight Greyhound to Las Vegas. Boon called in sick too cos if I didn't go to work, he would have more to do. Actually, both of us felt we were being discriminated at work so might as well... just hope people don't see I skipped work to be with Shannen =p Returning on June 15th. Forfeited the chance to go to Williams/Sedona with Boon and co. On the other hand, they simply would not join us over the weekend. Don't know why...

new schedule out today. Boon and I was appalled the HR management was so haphazard. still no response from BA re 'server promotion'. we got on well with most colleagues in BA and they also try to put in a good word for us in front of management. well, i asked Terri for an update this evening and she replied grimly, "come see me tomorrow as soon as you get here." the most shocking news was Jenny was leaving for AZ and replaced by new guy steven whom i don't even know who. After hours at room 48! we opened the bottle of champagne to celebrate... and Shannen brought back some rice/chicken and self-made pizza from her Tusuyan job. Really nice of her to warm up the food. Now.. back to planning for this weekend trip via Williams by train. yes!

the girls finally moved to room 48. Jenny & co. moved to cabin, so i went to get the key for them last night. saw Jenny after 3 days and she was her usual crappy self. when boon and i went over to 48 after work, Sky took him out to the balcony to chat. Shannen was asleep... working too many hours a day? Yingxia, Li min, Jenny and I were just chatting and having a light snack. I walked Jenny back via my hall, and then... we just sat down to talk by the railway. She just wanted to take snapshots of the milkyway with her digital camera. The funny part was when she tripped while crossing the railway and got her right hand smeared with train oil. For a second, she might have thought it was mule deer's poo. haha. we parted outside the cabin Poring used to stay. A signal I shouldn't send her back cos I'm not her favourite hunk Top. She took half a piece... I kept the bottle opener from the barware set.

Been here at this South Rim GC Village since 12th May, and today's trip to Flagstaff was real refreshing. I went to General Office for the first time to enquire about my 'tip to paper' and then also bought an ice-cream from E-cafe before going to board the van at Rec Ctr. The long car ride reminded me of the good times in Kakadu National Park, and I missed the people with me then. We dropped off at the mall and I just went exploring on my own with enthusiasm. It's only 1 storey high, but there are 3 malls-JC Penny, Dillards and Sears. I only bought a barware set from Dillards for Jenny. A LEVIS jeans is only $45!! Then we went across the street to marketplace where shops like Old Navy was located. I finally decided to have a haircut at the salon next to Ross. It was a good decision made cos i got to know a great girl called Jessica. She lives in the country 15-20 miles from the Salon. Ryan was real nice to pick me up again to the Mandarin buffet where we can have chinese food for $9.31 per person(chinese tea included). A sumptuous meal indeed! Everybody ate till their fill... with local sg favourites such as sweet/sour chicken, brocoli with pork and prawns. Mmmm... with our stomachs full, we walked around the downtown district which is just next to the Amtrak train station and the haunted Hotel Monte Vista. It was a nice evening, with friendly locals walking their dogs and people opening their shops for the artwork festival tonight. Shane Knight was magnificent with his entire film collection of horses in particular, a photo(not for sale) named 'running black'. The last stop was Wal-Mart, where we almost got a cell phone and/or a walkie-talkie set. But in the end we decided against it. I'm happier.

Poring left yesterday morning. I bought a burrito for her for breakfast. She said she doesn't like veggie. She is so nice... I miss her! We took many funny pics in her cabin and then went to uniform centre with her to deposit her clothes. Then Boon and I left for work. I hope she will email me the pics we took. Today, Tookta left. She cooked a real sumptuous dinner last night. I haven't met a girl who can cook so well for a long long time... I had my first taste of serving today with a couple. Jenny was busy in the kitchen so I checked if cheese lasagna can be served without meat. Then I took their order and sent out the pepper and corn chowder soup promptly. I was surprised the guy, Aaron walked to my buss station and gave me a tip, saying my service was good. This small perk at work will make the work less tiring. Also, we have a new busser friend called Antonio who teaches me a little spanish and Rosi, the new host, who teaches me a little french. =)

First day as host with Jie Xian/Bowy/Air. It was fun. I was the closing host and did fine till 1030pm. I know why busser life is so bad, cos hosts simply don't coordinate with the table settings. I had some operational knowledge to start with. Heard Sky made my bed last night. And everyone's else. This morning, Shannen packed and left for Flagstaff with Nok. I wonder why my opinion still matters when she already made up her mind? Cindy is mixing into new company. Good for her? Just trying to avoid something I think. Perhaps someone(s). o_O. I finally manage to catch Joshua again at the BA store. Hearing from him first hand really puts me off about Nok. But everyone is nonchalant. Let things be that way. Whatever questions Jie Xian and Jenny threw at me today, I simply said no. It felt good. My buddies boon and WQ brought beer and hot dogs for my supper. But they were too tired and slept before we could have some party… haha… to drown our sorrows?

The stars started talking to me the day i broke down. but i didn't hear it until tonight when i was walking back to Victor Hall. after work, i went to Cotler's Hall to look for them and Sky was asleep. We whispered at the door and when we thought Jenny and Happy was coming in, we hid behind the door and yingxia peeped thru the eye-viewer. So sorry she got a slight bump on her head when instead it was Shannen who pushed open the door and exclaimed at my presence, which woke Sky up from her sleep. Sky was very thoughtful to pack mashed potatoes with grated cheese for me. Sigh. Saw Shannen with that Nok again. None of my BA colleagues actually know him. I wonder what Shannen sees in him.
